Dear Dawn,
Again, another enjoyable podcast. May I recommend the Thurmond diet? I also lost some weight on weightwatchers, but feel that the Thurmond diet was healthier and more predictable results. Weight watchers turns out to be very expensive, where as the Thurmond diet is a onetime charge (Maybe $115?). I have reached the desired weight and now just maintain by approximating the diet. The downside is that you have to have a meal every 2 1/2 to 3 hours (this may have been Dolly Parton's diet). This means that you might have to do more dishes, food prep/planning etc. But the end result is a healthier diet. You soon lose your cravings for sweets & chocolate (unlike Weight watchers for me).

In church last month I learned of a man (I didn't know him) who went on a diet, lost some weight and died because he had an undiscovered diabetic condition. Perhaps you know these kinds of things already.

Hope this helps you, as you have given me plenty of pleasant evenings of knitting and listening to your podcast. susan93940m at gmail dot com

I laughed at your junior high sewing stories! In 8th grade home ec I was making a shirt. I was holding it walking over to the ironing board (in class) and I was holding my scissors too. I was playing with them, opening and shutting. Yes I cut a hole right smack in the middle of the back of my shirt! I still got an A on it. I think the teacher had pity on me! We were supposed to make a shirt AND a skirt that semester - I only got the shirt done, it took me so long to do. Lol

That said I am trying to do some sewing, I just don't have that much time right now. I'm still not very good at it but I'm trying!

Have a great day!
